How many grafts do I need for NW3?

Hi everyone, I'm currently at Norwood 3 and considering a hair transplant. My hairline has receded quite a bit and I have some thinning on the crown. How many grafts would I typically need to get good coverage? I've seen estimates ranging from 2000 to 3500 grafts online and I'm confused. Also, should I plan for future loss or just address current areas?

For NW3, you're looking at around 2500-3000 grafts for good coverage. I had similar hair loss and 2800 grafts gave me excellent results. Definitely plan for future loss - either get extra grafts now or budget for a second procedure. Also, get on Finasteride to prevent further loss!

I agree with the above. I'm NW3 and got 2600 grafts. Very happy with the results 8 months later. My advice: go to a reputable clinic that gives conservative estimates. Some clinics will say you need 4000+ grafts just to make more money.

Don't forget to consider your donor density too. I'm NW3 but have thin donor area, so could only get 2200 grafts safely. Still got decent results but wish I had more density. Get a proper evaluation first!
